Pigmentation, Acne and Scar Treatments
Cause-focused, personalized treatment plans for skin spots, acne, acne scars, wound scars, stretch marks and under-eye dark circles.

Pigmentation, acne and scars are not just changes on the surface of the skin. They are often the result of several factors at once, such as hormones, sun exposure, genetic predisposition, diet, stress and unsuitable skin care habits. For this reason, the priority is to understand the cause and keep the skin balanced over the long term, rather than focusing only on what is visible.
This category covers treatment for pigmentation and uneven skin tone, acne, acne scars, wound and cut scars, stretch marks and under-eye dark circles. Treatment is planned by combining options that range from home care and sun protection to chemical peels, microneedling, laser and injectable procedures, depending on the individual.
At her practice in Ataşehir, Istanbul, Dr. Fulya Koç evaluates each concern together with its underlying causes and works with the patient to set out a realistic roadmap. When needed, patients are referred to the relevant medical specialty. Results vary from person to person.

Questions about Pigmentation, Acne and Scar Treatments
Because skin renewal and collagen production take time, changes are usually noticed gradually over weeks and months. The length of treatment depends on the type and depth of the problem and on the method chosen.
Autumn and winter are usually preferred for procedures such as laser and deep peels. Medical acne treatment, home care and some gentle procedures can continue year-round with appropriate sun protection.
In many cases a noticeable improvement can be achieved, but it would not be accurate to say that scars and some spots will disappear completely. The aim is to reduce their appearance and improve the overall quality of the skin. Some types of pigmentation, such as melasma, may come back.
Not always. However, in situations such as persistent acne, rapidly increasing spots or under-eye dark circles, checking hormone, iron, vitamin and thyroid levels may help guide treatment.
