Thread Lift and Non-Surgical Facelift

Non-surgical face and neck tightening options using dissolvable threads, ultrasound and combined methods.

Thread Lift and Non-Surgical Facelift

With age, the collagen and elastin in the skin decrease, the fat pads of the face shift position, and tissue gradually descends under the influence of gravity. Sagging along the cheek line, a less defined jawline and looseness in the neck are the most commonly noticed signs of this process.

This category covers non-surgical methods that may be considered instead of a surgical facelift: lift procedures using dissolvable threads, the cobweb technique that uses very fine threads to support skin quality, deep-tissue tightening with focused ultrasound (HIFU), and the liquid facelift, which is based on balancing volume with filler. Each method differs in how it works, what can reasonably be expected, and how long its effect lasts.

At her clinic in Ataşehir, Dr. Fulya Koç first evaluates the structure of the face, skin thickness and degree of sagging; she then recommends a single method if one is needed, or fewer procedures if that is more appropriate. Talking openly about the limits of non-surgical methods in cases of marked sagging is also part of this evaluation.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Thread Lift and Non-Surgical Facelift

No, it does not give the same result. Methods such as thread lifts, HIFU and the liquid facelift may help tissue tightening and support skin quality in mild to moderate sagging. In cases of advanced sagging and marked excess skin, surgical options may be more appropriate; this distinction is made during the consultation.

The two methods serve different purposes. A thread lift aims to support and reposition tissue mechanically, while HIFU targets tightening and collagen renewal in the deeper layers through a heating effect. Depending on the degree of sagging, your skin thickness and your expectations, one of them, both together, or a different approach may be recommended.

It varies depending on the method used, the type of thread, your skin structure and your lifestyle. Dissolvable threads are gradually absorbed by the body, and the effects of fillers and HIFU also fade over time. For this reason, results are not permanent, and repeat treatment is planned at certain intervals if needed.

Most people return to daily life within a short time. Because swelling, bruising and a feeling of tightness may occur for a few days after thread procedures, it is helpful to leave a few days of margin before an important event.
