What Is Nose Filler?
Nose filler is also known as non-surgical nose reshaping or liquid rhinoplasty. By applying small amounts of hyaluronic acid to specific points on the nasal bridge or to support the nasal tip, the aim is to make the line of the nose look straighter and more balanced.
Nose filler does not make the nose smaller; it only adds volume. For example, by supporting the areas above and below a bump on the nasal bridge, the bump can be made less noticeable. For this reason, it is very important that expectations are in line with the limits of the method.
The result of non-surgical nose reshaping is visible right after the treatment and is not permanent; the filler is gradually broken down by the body. This feature also offers an option for those who want to see how their nose would look in a different line before making a surgical decision.
Who Is It Suitable For?
- People with a mild to moderate bump on the nasal bridge
- Those with a small dip or asymmetry on the nasal bridge
- Those who need slight support at the nasal tip
- Those who want to see how a change would look before considering surgery
Nose filler is not suitable for those who want to make the nose smaller, narrow it noticeably, or correct breathing problems and a crooked nose; surgical evaluation is needed in these cases. In people who have had nose surgery before, treatment is not recommended before enough time has passed and, if needed, before the surgeon’s opinion has been obtained.
How Is the Treatment Done?
- The nose is examined from the front and the side; its proportion to the rest of the face and any previous procedures are assessed.
- What can and cannot change is discussed openly.
- The area is disinfected and numbing cream is applied.
- The filler is applied slowly, in very small amounts, into the deep layer close to the bone and cartilage.
- The line of the nose is checked at each step; the procedure usually takes 15–30 minutes.
What Should You Pay Attention to Afterward?
- For the first two weeks, take care not to put pressure on your nose or wear heavy glasses.
- Avoid sleeping on your stomach for the first few days.
- For the first 48 hours, avoid heavy exercise, saunas, steam baths and alcohol.
- Do not massage the area or try to shape it.
- Be sure to come in for your follow-up visit.
Possible Side Effects and Who Should Not Have It
Mild swelling, redness and tenderness are common and pass within a few days. Rarely, small irregularities or asymmetry may be seen.
The nose is one of the areas where the risk of a blocked blood vessel is relatively higher among filler treatments. The vessels that supply the skin of the nose are small and connected to each other; although very rare, if the filler enters one of these vessels, skin wounds and tissue loss, and in extremely rare cases loss of vision, can develop. For this reason, the treatment is performed only in suitable people, in the deep layer and with very small amounts, and hyaluronidase is always kept on hand. If you notice severe pain, whitening or a mottled color change in the nasal skin, or any change in your vision after the treatment, you should contact your doctor right away.
The treatment is not performed during pregnancy and breastfeeding, if there is an active infection in the area, or if there is an allergy to a filler ingredient.
Dr. Fulya Koç’s Approach
Dr. Fulya Koç sees nose filler not as a treatment to recommend to everyone, but as an option that can be valuable in the right person. At the consultation, what the method can and cannot provide is explained openly; saying so when your expectations cannot be met with this method is part of building trust.
Sometimes the real reason for a concern about the nose is a receding chin or other proportions of the face. For this reason, the nose is assessed together with the whole face. Safety is always placed before aesthetic expectations; the balance of risks and benefits is shared with you transparently.

Frequently asked questions
Nose filler usually lasts 9–12 months, and in some people longer. Because the nose is a less mobile area, the duration may vary from person to person.
No. Nose filler only adds volume. By supporting the areas above and below a bump, the nose may look straighter, but the size of the nose does not decrease.
The nose is an area that requires care with regard to blocked blood vessels. Although the risks are rare, they are serious; for this reason, choosing the right person, a technique suited to the anatomy and keeping hyaluronidase on hand are very important.
For small irregularities after surgery, filler can sometimes be considered. However, because the tissue structure of a nose that has had surgery has changed, enough time needs to pass and, if needed, the surgeon’s opinion should be obtained.
